Department of Computer Science and Engineering Direct Admission
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in year 1984. The Department offers three undergraduate programs, B.E (CSE), B.E (CSE- Data Science), B.E (CSE- Cyber Security) and two postgraduate programs M-Tech(CSE) & M.Tech(CNE). Department also offers M.Sc by research and Ph.D. degree in various specializations of Computer Science and Engineering. The two new B.E programs namely B.E (CSE- Data Science) and B.E (CSE- Cyber Security) are offered from academic year 2023-27.
Department of Computer Science and Engineering has MoUs for Research, Consultancy and training with multinational companies and government agencies such as CISCO, Citrix, Nihon, Gnostic, Sapient ,Infosys Technologies and Karnataka Forest department.
Department has industry sponsored labs from CISCO, IBM and Nvidia GPU research Centre. Students are encouraged to take up interdisciplinary research in various domains of computer science like computer vision, Data Mining, Networking, high performance computing etc. and are placed in reputed companies

Placement
Department of Computer Science & Engineering has consistent and excellent placement record since its inception. The graduates and post-graduates of CSE department are placed across leading software companies like Cisco, PayPal, Akamai, Qualcomm, IBM, Salesforce, Oracle, Wipro, Cloudera, Udaan, Walmart, Citrix, VMware, SAP, Hewlett Packard, Fidelity Investments, JP Morgan Chase & Co., Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Juniper Networks and many more. A good percentage of students opt for higher studies abroad, civil services and entrepreneurship.
The students are prepared for placements by offering project based curriculum and personality development programs. The average salary for year 2021-22 so far is 15.3 lacs/annum and highest salary offered is above 38 lacs/annum. The present batch of 2022 are attending the placements and estimated to meet expectations. It is observed that there is consistent improvement in placement statistics every year.
Internships are helpful in providing real working environments to the students. Some students do internship during their summer vacation.

R.V. College of Engineering BE Eligibility
The minimum requirement for applying is mentioned as follows:
- Candidates must have passed class 12th with at least 65% in Mathematics and Physics separately.
- Also, they must have obtained at least 70% marks in Maths and Science separately.
R.V. College of Engineering BE Selection Criteria
- For selecting candidates, R V College of Engineering considers the score of KCET exam for those who belong to the state of Karnataka.
- While for students belonging to other states, selection will depend upon the exams such as COMEDK and any other national entrance test.
- Applicants with a valid rank in the above exams have to appear for the counselling.
- KCET qualified students have to appear in KCET Counselling conducted by KEA and COMEDK qualifiers have to attend the COMEDK Counselling.
- During the counselling, applicants have to fill the choice of college and course
- Seats will be allotted based on the choices filled and score obtained in the entrance exam.
- Around 45% of seats are filled through KCET, 30% through COMEDK and remaining 25% through Management Quota.
