Department of Computer Science and Engineering

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in year 1984. The Department offers three undergraduate programs, B.E (CSE), B.E (CSE- Data Science), B.E (CSE- Cyber Security) and two postgraduate programs M.Tech(CSE) & M.Tech(CNE).

Department also offers M.Sc by research and Ph.D. degree in various specializations of Computer Science and Engineering. The two new B.E programs namely B.E (CSE- Data Science) and B.E (CSE- Cyber Security) are offered from academic year 2023-27.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering has MoUs for Research, Consultancy and training with multinational companies and government agencies such as CISCO, Citrix, Nihon, Gnostice, Sapient ,Infosys Technologies  and Karnataka Forest department.

Department has industry sponsored labs from CISCO, IBM and Nvidia GPU research center. Students are encouraged to take up interdisciplinary research in various domains of computer science like computer vision, Data Mining, Networking, high performance computing etc. and are placed in reputed companies RV College of Engineering CSE Direct Admission

Placement

 Department of Computer Science & Engineering has consistent and excellent placement record since its inception. The graduates and post-graduates of CSE department are placed across leading software companies like Cisco, PayPal, Akamai, Qualcomm, IBM, Salesforce, Oracle, Wipro, Cloudera, Udaan, Walmart, Citrix, VMware, SAP, Hewlett Packard, Fidelity Investments, JP Morgan Chase & Co., RV College of Engineering CSE Direct Admission

Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Juniper Networks and many more. A good percentage of students opt for higher studies abroad, civil services and entrepreneurship. The students are prepared for placements by offering project based curriculum and personality development programs.

The average salary for year 2021-22 so far is 15.3 lacs/annum and highest salary offered is above 38 lacs/annum. The present batch of 2022 are attending the placements and estimated to meet expectations. It is observed that there is consistent improvement in placement statistics every year.

RV College of Engineering offers a four-year BE across 13 specializations. Some of the top specialisations include Civil, Mechanical, Aerospace, CSE, EEE and ECE, among others. To be eligible for these specialisations the aspiring candidates need class 12 with 60% aggregate in Physics and Maths separately.
