Admission in SRM University-2024
SRM Institute of Science and Technology, or Sri Ramaswamy Memorial Institute of Science and Technology, formerly known as SRM University, is a deemed university located in Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu, India.
It was founded in 1985 as SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur, under University of Madras. SRM Institute of Science and Technology includes 4 campuses, 3 in Tamil Nadu— Kattankulathur, Ramapuram and Vadapalani, and one in NCR Delhi.
The institute gained deemed status during the 2003-2004 academic year and was renamed SRM Institute of Science and Technology. It became SRM University in 2006 following permission by the UGC for ‘Deemed to be Universities’ to be called ‘Universities’.In 2017 it was renamed back as SRM Institute of Science and Technology following the UGC request to drop “University” from the name.

ADMISSION CRITERIA IN SRM UNIVERSITY
For the majority of the programs, admission is done through National level entrance examination conducted by SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) or authorized /statutory boards or agencies. For a few programs, admission is done directly.
In addition to the above, the eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in the qualifying examination as well.

SRM University Chennai Campus
The SRM University Chennai stands for Sri Ramaswami Memorial University is a deemed university privately owned in the state of Tamilnadu. At first it was started as an engineering college in Kattankulathur, under University of Madras in the year 1985 which had around 7 campuses.
The 4 campuses in Tamilnadu are Kattankulathur, Vadapalani, Ramapuram, Tiruchchirappalli and the other are in Sonepat, Gangtok & NCR. In the year 2003/2004 the college was renamed as SRM Institute of Science and Technology. Later in 2006 it became SRM University and became full-fledged university under section 3 of UGC Act 1956. This university is accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) along with this it is approved by University Grants Commission.
The Kattankulathur Campus campus is located around 35km from Chennai city and has a campus situated on 313-acre area beside the Grand Southern Trunk Road, NH 45. This campus consists of College of Engineering and Technology, College of Science and Humanities, School of Management & College of Medicine and Health Sciences. The Vadapalani Campus is suited in Chennai city center and houses for Faculty of Management Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of MCA, & the Sivaji Ganesan Film Institute.
