MSRIT was started in the year 1962 in Yeshwantpur, Bangalore by the Chairman, Dr.M.S.Ramaiah. Another campus named Ramaiah University for M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology is located in Peenya Industrial area known as MSRUAS.
