VIT Pune or Vishwakarma Institute of Technology Pune is an autonomous Engineering College affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University was established in 1983. VIT Pune is run by Bansilal Ramnath Agarwal Charitable Trust (BRACT) which was started on the 16^th June 1975 under Bombay Trust Act of 1950.

VIT Pune was the first private college in Maharashtra to attain academic autonomy in the academic year 2008-2009. The Institute is running 9 under graduate, 8 post-graduate & 6 Ph.D. Programme which are affiliated to the University of Pune.

In this Institutional Level, about 20% of the Total Intake is reserved for Direct Admission in which no merit is required.
