M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, (MSRIT) Bangalore

Dr. M.S. Ramaiah rose from humble origins to become a highly popular and respected individual, recognized for his philanthropy, vision, and values. Realizing the importance of quality education in shaping modern India, he started the Gokula Education Foundation (GEF) in 1962. MSRIT was the first of the many institutions created under its aegis, a pioneering effort when it came to privatization of higher education.

Today GEF owns and manages several institutions offering quality education in various disciplines – Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Business Management, Engineering, Law and Pure Sciences, contributing significantly towards creating an educated and self-reliant community. Dr. M.S. Ramaiah was awarded a honourary Doctorate by the University of Tumkur. He was conferred a second Doctorate by VTU in 2012 in recognition of his efforts.

Eligibility Criteria (B.E.)-

A candidate who has passed 10 + 2 patterns of examination (equivalent to the two year Pre University in Karnataka) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible to pursue an undergraduate degree in engineering at MSRIT. The eligibility for admission is 45% in the case of the General Category and 40% marks in the qualifying examination in case of SC/ST, Category-1, and OBC Category candidates. The marks obtained by the candidate in Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics in the qualifying examination will be considered in the place of Chemistry in case the marks obtained in Chemistry is less for the required aggregate percentage for the purpose of determination of eligibility (and not for the purpose of determination of rank, in respect of engineering/technology courses).
