In the history of Karnataka, the name of Late Businayana Mukundadas Sreenivasaiah (BMS) occupies a prominent place in the field of Philanthropy. The Maharaja of Mysore honored him with the title of Raja Karya Prasaktha in 1946. He started the B.M.S. College of Engineering in the same year. Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering (RVCE or R.V. College of Engineering, Rāshtrīya Vidyālaya Tāntrika Mahāvidyālaya) is a private technical co-educational college located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Students are admitted to undergraduate courses on basis of their performance in either Karnataka Common Entrance Test, or in the COMED-K test. Students are also admitted through a management quota, which does not place merit requirements. There is a lateral entry scheme in place, by which students holding diploma degrees can enter directly to the second year of study in engineering. Students, upon graduating, received a Bachelor of Engineering degree. RVCE follows the credit-based system of performance evaluation, with a proportional weighting of courses based on their importance.
