MHT-CET or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is a state-level entrance exam conducted by Directorate of Technical Education in Maharashtra for admission into First and Direct Second Year Professional Undergraduate Technical Courses (Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy, Pharm D., Architecture, Hotel Management and Catering Technology) and B. Sc. (Honours) (Agriculture) / B.Sc. (Honours) (Horticulture) / B.Sc. (Honours) (Forestry) / B.Tech. (Agriculture Engineering) / B.Tech. (Food Technology) / B.Sc. (Honours) (Community Science) / B. Tech. (Bio-Technology) / B.F.Sc. (Fisheries) / B.Sc. (Honours) (Animal Husbandry) in Maharashtra.
The Directorate has under its development and supervisory ambit, around 1600 Technical Education institutions across the state of Maharashtra spread across 6 regions viz. Amravati, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik and Pune.
MHT-CET exam consists of 3 sections- Paper I will comprise of Physics and Chemistry, Paper II will be based on Botany and Zoology while Paper III will include questions related to Mathematics. Candidates appearing for an engineering course can attempt 150 questions, for health sciences, 200 questions can be attempted. Those appearing for Pharmacy courses can attempt 150, 200 or 250 questions.
