Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal was established in 1957 as one the first self-financing Engineering Colleges in the Country. In 2000, it became a constituent institute of the deemed university – Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), which is now known as Manipal Academy of Higher Education.

Admission to Manipal Institute of Technology can be attained through Manipal Entrance Test (MET) and is carried out at centers across India.

MET

Manipal University conducts own Entrance Exam named Manipal Entrance Test (MET) to offer Admissions to desired candidates in the programs offered by the University. The Manipal University is itself responsible for releasing the results, cut-offs and counseling procedures.

It is 2 hours and 30 minutes, computer based exam and consists of 200 questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and logical reasoning. There is no negative marking with 1 mark allotted to every right answer. Manipal University offers three chances for a student to take up the entrance exam subjected to additional payment and availability of vacancies. Unlike other entrance exams the score for the candidate’s performance in the online based test will be displayed immediately after the exam ends depending on which the candidates will be eligible to appear for counselling.
