BMS College of Engineering
BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE) was Founded in the year 1946 by Late Sri. B. M. Sreenivasaiah a great visionary and philanthropist and nurtured by his illustrious son Late Sri. B. S. Narayan. BMSCE is the first private sector initiative in engineering education in India. BMSCE has completed 72 years of dedicated service in the field of Engineering Education. Started with only 03 undergraduate courses, BMSCE today offers 13 Undergraduate & 16 Postgraduate courses both in conventional and emerging areas. 15 of its Departments are recognized as Research Centers offering PhD/M.Sc (Engineering by Research) degrees in Science, Engineering, Architecture, and Management. The College has been effectively practicing outcome-based education.
Location & Area: Located in the heart of Bangalore, the Garden City of India, BMSCE is about 5 KMs from the Central Railway Station. The campus area is 15 Acres with a built up area of 62,068 Sq.M. The College has been the most preferred destination not only for students of the state but also from various parts of the Country.
The Institution is accredited to AICTE, New Delhi, Affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, Karnataka, approved by Council of Architecture (COA), New Delhi, BMSCE is a AICTE recognized QIP Centre in Engineering & Technology, BMSCE is the only institution from India adopted by the Melton Foundation, USA. Chemical Engineering The department started in 1995 by the great visionary Late B S Narayan with an intake of 30. Subsequently in 2002 the intake is increased to 60.
Chemistry The Chemistry Department is one of the oldest departments of BMSCE and was established in the year 1946 and recognized by VTU.
Civil Engineering The Department Civil Engineering was one of the three branches started when BMS college of Engineering was established in 1946
Computer Applications The Department of Computer Applications was established in 1984, initially with an intake of 30 students and the department admits 60 students yearly.
Computer Science and Engineering The Department of CSE offers BE in Computer Science and Engineering and M. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering
Electrical and Electronics The department was established in 1946 under Grant in Aid from Govt. of Karnataka with an undergraduate program in Electrical & Electronics Eng.

What is B.Tech?
Bachelor of Technology is an undergraduate academic degree conferred after the completion of a three or four year programmed of studies at an accredited university or accredited university degree level college in the Commonwealth of Nations, Norway, Republic of Ireland, the United States, and other countries.
The common abbreviation for Bachelor of Technology is B.Tech. Or B.Tech. (Hons), if awarded with honors. It is recognized by NBA.Being one of the top rated institute lot of companies come here and over 90% of Students are placed and rest are I found to be Entrepreneurs.Overall the college is good and gives a very good learning experience. A great platform to show your talents and to explore new things. The college has got a very good infrastructure and authority. As a fresher I got a very warm welcome into my college in the first day. The college has got wide range of opportunities and provides various platforms for students to expose their talents. The college is in collaboration with many companies and many workshops are continuously held for the development of student. The college has got a pretty much smaller campus which may be its minus point. Overall the college is a great center for learning.
