Department of Information Science and Engineering

The focus of the department is to provide students with in-depth knowledge in the field of computer and information technology through the following two academic programs:
The undergraduate curriculum emphasizes on theoretical and practical aspects of information science. The postgraduate curriculum provides expertise in the areas of computer networking and communication.
The curriculum is designed to meet industry standard and cope with the fast changing technology. Extension lectures and industrial visits are organized frequently to provide an overview on recent and current trends of information technology. Apart from the curriculum, the students are encouraged to participate in research projects, technical events, cultural activities and sports.
The department has a strong coverage of alumni networks to support curriculum development and career guidance for ongoing student batches. Our department faculty remain a constant source of inspiration to students in order to achieve outstanding results and excellent placement records.

The department of Information Science and Engineering was established in the year 1987 with an intake of 60 for UG programmed.
Since then the department has evolved over the years to portray its excellent academic performance. The department has attracted an increasing number of students aspiring for a technical career in information technology. The intake was enhanced to 90 in the year 2000.
As an autonomous institution, the department has flexibility in designing the curriculum. The subjects offered cover the major upcoming technologies with more emphasis to fundamental concepts. The innate strength of department is faculty. The department is well equipped with 25 experienced faculty.
Among them, there are 3 Professors and 4 Associate Professors. Computing facilities in the department provide teaching and research needs for students and faculty. All systems are upgraded to the latest configuration with campus wide internet connectivity.
The department has close interaction with companies such as EMC, TCS, SAP and IBM to promote student projects. The department has an outstanding placement record with an average placement percentage of 95% over last 3 years. The UG programmed has been accredited by NBA in Tier-I format [as per Washington Accord] for 2 years.

- Every student should possess “Identity Cards” duly attested by Principal.
- Students must maintain a minimum of 85% attendance.
- Mobile phones are prohibited in classrooms and labs.
- Ragging is strictly prohibited in college premises.
- Students can avail leave only with prior intimation to their proctors.
- Minimum CIE requirement to take up semester end examination is 40%.
