BMS College of Engineering was established by Late Sri.B.M.Sreenivasaiah a great visionary and a philanthropist. It is the first private college in India. The college has successfully completed 72 years of dedicated service in the field of Engineering Education. It started in the year 1946.

The college was affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University from 1998 to 2008, and it became autonomous in 2008.The institute has been effectively practicing outcome based Education. Students are required to sit for the following examinations – BMS College of Engineering- BMSCE- ADMISSION

  • Karnataka – CET (If you are a student of Karnataka state or have the domicile certificate of studying in Karnataka can appear in this test)
  • ComedK (ComedK is a private institute who conducts ComedK Entrance exams which is a National Level Exam. All students belonging to India are eligible to apply for ComedK entrance exams held every year in the month of August)

How do I get into BMS College of Engineering?

Academic Eligibility for Four Years under Graduate Programs (B.E.): BMS College of Engineering- BMSCE- ADMISSION

1. Through Comedk:

For General Merit Candidates: A candidate who has Passed in 2nd PUC / 12 Std / Equivalent Examination with English as one of the Language and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / BioTechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible to pursue in under graduate programs (BE).

For SC/ST & OBC (Cat-I, 2A, 2B, 3A 3B) Category Candidates: A candidate who has Passed in 2nd PUC / 12 Std / Equivalent Examination with English as one of the Language and obtained a Minimum of 40% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / BioTechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible to pursue in under graduate pogroms (BE).

The marks obtained by the candidate in Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science / Electronics in the qualifying examination will be considered in the place of Chemistry in case the marks obtained in Chemistry is less for the required aggregate percentage for the pursue of determination of eligibility.

  • Entrance Examination: KEA / COMED-K
  • For Management Admissions: Students have to take any one of the Entrance Examination

2. Through Lateral Entry Scheme:

Three Years Bachelor of Engineering (B.E. – Lateral Entry Scheme) Programs: A candidate who has passed Qualifying Examination i.e. any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45 % (for General Merit Candidates) of marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (i.e., fifth and six semesters) diploma examination (Q E) is eligible for admission to B E-Courses and 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka Candidates.

NOTE: The aggregate percentage of marks of the course of the qualifying examination shall be calculated as follows:

  • Aggregate Percentage of Marks = Sum of the marks scored by the candidate in all the subjects of the final year (5th & 6th semester) examinations X 100
  • Sum of the maximum marks of all the subjects of the final years (5th & 6th semester) examinations.

3. Through Management Quota:

  • Eligibility criteria – average 60% and above in puc or 12th standard in physics, mathematics, chemistry / computer science / electronics.
  • Hostel fees is extra (not included in the above mentioned fees structure)
  • BMS Educational Trust does not encourage admissions through agents or support agents for the admissions in the college.

Is there any entrance exam for BMS?

Several entrance exams are conducted by the University and the individual colleges itself to screen the candidates and 12th grade marks are also given viable consideration.

  • DU JAT: this exam is conducted by Delhi University for admission into various courses, including BMS course.
  • AIMA UGAT: this exam is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) in order to conduct a viable screening for candidates in their BMS Courses.
  • MUCMET: Mumbai University Common Management Entrance Test (MUCMET) is conducted every year for admission to the Integrated BMS+MBA course offered at Mumbai’s Thane Sub Campus.
