1. Admission Through KCET Entrance Exam

100% seats in all Govt. Engineering Colleges and 45% seats in all Private Engineering Colleges are allocated through KCET Entrance Exam in the counselling conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

KCET Entrance Exam is only for Karnataka Domicile students or those who has studies more than seven (07) years in Karnataka or their parents have done education from Karnataka.

2. Admission through COMEDK UGET Exam

Around 30% to 35% seats in all Private Engineering Colleges are allocated through COMEDK UGET Exam in the counselling conducted by COMEDK (An Association of Private Engineering, Medical and Dental colleges in Karnataka).

Candidates from Karnataka as well as outside Karnataka can appear COMEDK UGET for admission into private engineering colleges in Karnataka.

3. Direct Admission under Management Quota Seats

All private engineering colleges in Karnataka offer Direct Admission under Management Quota seats. Under the Management Quota, around 20% to 25% seats are reserved for B.E. or BTech Direct Admission.

Anyone can apply for B.E or B.Tech Direct Admission under Management Quota. However, the fee structure under Management Quota is higher than the normal tuition fee in some colleges like RV College, BMS College, PES University, etc., and it’s the same as that of other merit students paying the tuition fee, but colleges charge you extra in terms of donations or development fees.

4. Admission under NRI Quota or CIWGC Quota Seats

Engineering Colleges in Karnataka also offer Direct Admission under NRI Quota or CIWGC Quota seats, which is also called Supernumerary Quota (SNQ) to students who have studied outside India or their parents are working in abroad, and they want to study an engineering program in India.

Around 5% to 10% seats are available for Direct Admission under the NRI Quota or CIWGC Quota in every private engineering college in Karnataka.

The Fee Structure under these categories or quotas is much higher than the normal merit fee because it has to be paid in Dollars or Indian Rupees, equivalent to Indian Rupees.

The admission process at DSCE is conducted through common tests that are conducted by state agencies and national agencies like CET and COMMED-K. It commences in the month of March every year and concludes on 31st July of the same year. The lateral entry (Diploma Quota) through CET is for 3rd semester and commences in the month of July/August.
