VIT or Vellore Institute of Technology Vellore which is also known as VIT University is a renowned private deemed engineering university in India located in Vellore close to Chennai the Capital City of Tamil Nadu State
Started in 1984 as a self-financing institution Vellore Engineering College (VEC) by Dr. G. Viswanathan, a former Parliamentarian and Minister in the Tamil Nadu Government.
Then, VEC was affiliated to University of Madras and offers only three engineering branches i.e., Civil, Mechanical, and Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Currently, VIT University offers 64 Undergraduate, 35 Postgraduate, 16 Integrated, 2 Research and 2 M.Tech Industrial Programmes.
In 2001, the UGC and Ministry of HRD conferred VEC Deemed-to-be-University status, then “Vellore Engineering College” is converted to “Vellore Institute of Technology” and lastly in 2005 the name Vellore Institute of Technology becomes “VIT University”.
VIT University has opened three more campuses in addition to Vellore Campus, which are located in Chennai, Bhopal and Amravati (AP).

VIT Vellore Engineering Admission Process-2024-2026
In order to get Admission into VIT Vellore, first of all you should have at-least 60% marks in PCM in your Class 12th Standard or equivalent exam, if you’re in final year and appearing Class 12th Exams or 10+2 Exam, then also you will get admission to VIT Vellore after passing but the condition remains same.
And you must appear in the VITEEE conducted to VIT University itself, that is compulsory without appearing VITEEE you can’t get admission to any campus of VIT University, no matter how good your marks in 10+2 or Class 12th.

VIT Vellore Direct B.Tech Admission Fee-2024-2026
VIT Vellore sanction B.Tech Admission to its all campuses through VITEEE counseling. If your VITEEE rank is not that good and still you want admission there, in such case you can apply for direct admission on higher categories fee.
As I told above in this article, that VIT University have higher fee system for higher rank holders in different categories.
If your VITEEE rank is more, and you want admission in VIT Vellore and VIT Chennai and also, you’re ready to pay higher tuition fee then you may get admission to any campus of VIT in your desired stream but your rank shouldn’t go beyond 1 Lakh.
Candidates with 1 Lakh+ rank in VITEEE are not eligible to take admission into VIT Vellore and VIT Chennai Campus, there can take admission to VIT Bhopal and VIT Amravati (AP).
