Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT)

The BITSAT exam is an online test conducted in online mode for shortlisting candidates for admission in various first degree programmes offered by the institution. The test comprises multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English and Logical Reasoning. The detailed exam pattern and BITSAT syllabus is described here

Students who qualify the test by obtaining the minimum qualifying marks are called for counselling and admission process. Admission is on the basis of merit list formulated on the basis of marks obtained in the BITSAT examination.

BITS Pilani Direct Admission for Board Topper

The Institute offers direct admission to first rank students of all the central and state boards to the programmed of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT score. The first rank student in the PCM stream will be considered for admission to any of the first-degree programmed of his/her choice and the first rank holder of PCB stream will be considered for admission to B. Pharm. Programme only. Moreover, they should have obtained the minimum marks in PCM/PCB subjects in 12th class examination as laid down in eligibility criteria.

Students applying under this category should have filled BITSAT application form within the stipulated time in order to be considered for admission. The institute will take details of all the board toppers from the respective boards. Students will also be required to provide the proof of board topper by submitting the marksheet and a letter from the board.

Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT)

Students who are citizens of a country other than India can apply for admission under this category. Students applying for admission in this category must have passed class 12 or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with adequate proficiency in English. Additionally, candidates must secure at least 75% (7.5 grade on a 10 Point Scale) overall aggregate of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects with at least 60% (6.0 grade on a 10 point scale) marks in each subject.

For SAT exam, candidates should obtain a minimum aggregate score of 1160 (out of maximum of 1600) in SAT and also a minimum aggregate score of 1600 (out of maximum of 2400) in SAT Subject Tests in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Level 2.

Students applying under this category should fill the BITSAT application form within the stipulated time in order to be considered for admission. Students will also be required to upload their SAT score details in the application form in order to be considered for admission.
