The Department of Aeronautical Engineering in Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering is started in the Year 2009. The department has equipped with the best infrastructure and state – of – the – art modern high tech laboratory facilities such as; Aircraft Propulsion Lab., Energy Conversion Lab., Aerodynamics Lab. (Low-Speed Wind Tunnel Facility), Aircraft Structures Lab., Aircraft Simulation Lab. and Design, Modeling and Analysis Lab. (equipped with licensed software viz. NASTRAN/PATRAN, ANSYS V4, CATIA V6, and MATLAB) catering to B.E. Aeronautical Engineering curriculum as well as to undertake research activities.

The department endeavors to impart quality education in Aerospace Engineering and to produce Engineers of excellence, and strive to be one of the best institutions in the aerospace education domain.

The department also excels in flying its wings high in co-curricular activities by organizing and participating workshops, conferences at the national level, for providing the students to showcase their talents on the campus.
