Mechanical Engineering Department @ Dayananda Sagar College

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, was started in the year 1979. The department offers undergraduate and Post Graduate courses in Mechanical Engineering with the present intake of 180 students and 36 students respectively.

Both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students are getting ranks consistently at the University Level and the Department has an excellent Placement record with the students getting placed in reputed core industries as well as IT sectors.

Our students have won awards at various technical events, conferences, and symposiums held at prestigious institutions. The Department has dedicated and experienced faculty team with more than twelve PhDs, driving the department towards excellence in academics as well as R&D activities.

Research Scholars and students make use of the facilities at R & D and work on various funded projects of Naval Research Board (NRB), Institution of Engineers, AICTE, Aeronautical Society of India, KSCST, IEDC, etc.

With the “Make in India” mission as its goal, the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering with the support of its well-equipped labs and training methodologies is striving constantly to carry out research work in the fields of FEA, Production technology, Nanotechnology, and Advanced Materials.

The Department has MOU’s with FKCCI, RAPSRI Industries, VOLMO India Ltd., FeNFe Metallurgical, and Bosch Rexroth, M/S JCR DRILLSOL undertaking postgraduate and undergraduate project works, internship and training for students.

Mechanical Engineering Admission @ Dayananda Sagar College

Students who were looking forward for Mechanical Engineering Admission at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering need to come within the pre-defined eligibility criteria which are:

Pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination in the first attempt with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as specialization
Pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination with 45 % marks aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology/ Computer science/ Electronic

And should appear for common entrance test conducted by the state agency “Karnataka Examination Authority”, if they are not possess Karnataka domicile then they could appear for COMEDK UGET conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka.

Besides all the colleges also provide admissions under Management Quota and NRI Quota for non-entrance qualified students, but they have good marks in their academics, and unfortunately couldn’t be done well in the entrance test.
