Welcome to the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, BMS Institute of Technology and Management, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) was established in the year 2002-03, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The UG programmed is provisionally accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi till 2022. The Department offers full-time UG programmed in Electronics & Communication Engineering and has a research center recognized by VTU, Belagavi.

The Department has qualified and experienced faculty members with expertise in VLSI and embedded systems, digital communication, signal processing, computer networks, nanoelectronics, etc.

The ongoing research activities include digital image processing and computer vision, biomedical signal processing, communication, and networking.

The department facilitates well-equipped laboratories strengthened by software like Matlab, Cadence, Labview, HFSS, Multisim, Vivado, keil etc., and supported by Zibo, Nexys, Kintex boards for UG projects and research activities. The department facilitates industry-institute interaction with the industries like KPIT Technologies, Tata Elxsi, Edge, etc. through collaborations for industrial visit, internships, workshops, and job opportunities.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Eligibility @ ECE Branch

  • Applicant should have completed Higher Secondary Examination or second year PUC or any other examination holding equivalent value with Physics and Mathematics as main subjects.
  • He/she should have also studied Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology or Electronics as optional subjects with an average minimum of 45% marks with English as the compulsory medium.
