Electrical and Electronics Department in BMS College
The Department of Elec trical and Elec tronics Engineering in B M S C E was started at the time of inception of the institute in 1946 under Grant in Aid from Govt. of Karnataka with an intake of 60 candidates at undergraduate level.
The undergraduate program of the department got the status of autonomy in 2008, and the program has been accredited by NBA (Washington Accord) under Tier-I format for three (03) years till July 2017.
In 1991 the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering included the postgraduate program (M.Tech) in Power Electronics with an intake of 18 students, and this program is also autonomous since 2013. The M.Tech program of this department is also accredited by the NBA since July 2013.
The department has been recognized as an R&D Centre under VTU during the year 2002 and AICTE QIP research center in the year 2011.
The Department is well equipped with 23 experienced faculties; among them, 03 are Professors, 11 Associate Professors, and 09 are Assistant Professors. Again 11 faculties among them are having Doctorate Degree with an average of 17 years of experience.
