Introduction to Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Pune

It was established by Dr. Patangrao Kadam in 1983. BVUCOEP is constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University). Which has been Accredited to A+ grade in its third Cycle by ‘NAAC’ in 2017 (BVDU accredited to Grade ‘A’ in 2004 and 2011). PROGRAMMES & COURSES

Civil- The Department of Civil Engg offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate degree courses. The department possesses qualified faculty, state-of-the-art infrastructure and its own library. As a part of the infrastructure, the department laboratories are equipped with modern equipment and are capable of conducting research projects and provide consultancy to the industry. The well-equipped hi-tech computer lab provides students with a hands-on experience of the industry relevant softwares that are part of their curriculum.

Chemical- It established in 1984, holds a place of pride and is amongst the most reputed departments of this institute. It is the oldest department in the Pune region which offers undergraduate, postgraduate as well as doctoral degree.

Computer-It established on 9thAugust 1983 is one of the oldest and largest Engg institutes in the state of Maharashtra. The institute was affiliated to University of Pune (now known as Savitribai Phule Pune University).

Information Technology- The Department of Computer Engg was established in 1985 and commenced with the undergraduate programme of B.E (Computer Engg) with an intake of60 under the University of Pune. In the year 2000, the institute came under the ambit of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University and subsequently the intake of the programme was also increased to 120 in the same year.

Electrical- Modern life cannot continue without electricity. Electricity is the single largest source of power for all kinds of machines used around the world. Electrical engg is a field of engg that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. The field first became an identifiable occupation in the late nineteenth century after commercialization of the electric telegraph and electrical power supply.

Electronics- The industry has witnessed an explosive growth in the field of electronics in the recent years. India has institutions that are deeply rooted in the principles of democracy and Justice. This ensures a transparent, predictable and secure environment for development of electronics field. The Indian market presents a unique opportunity as compared to developed countries, hence increasing the attractiveness of the Indian market. In the engg field, electronics branch is one of the most significant as it reflects today’s changing technology. It has become a must-know field as it forms the base for all other engg branches.

Mechanical- Mechanical engineers find placements in the automobile industry, oil and gas production companies, aeronautical field, cement industries, design sector, chemical industries, heavy machinery sector, information technology, and defense. In order to keep pace with the times, the department has started the postgraduate course in CAD/CAM, which is unique in Pune region.

Production– Production Engg Department was established in the year 1983. This is one of few departments to be established in the University of Pune. The department provides the best of academic & practical knowledge to student’s right from the inception. It provides Student’s with a balance of intellectual and practical experiences. Its goal is to identify emerging technologies and Design innovative methods for teaching and learning, led by active research.

Basic Science and Humanities- Department of Basic Science and Humanities is an excellent blend of veteran, competent, and dynamic young faculties. They are vigorously involved in teaching and research activities to fulfill educational objectives. Department contributes to laid a foundation of Engg and make students ready to peruse their career in engg.
