The state CET Cell will announce the Maharashtra B.Tech counselling schedule on the official website. There are four rounds of counselling for MHT CET 2026, followed by a spot/ institutional round if there are vacancies. There is no counselling fee for MHT CET 2026 qualified candidates. Candidates applying based on the score of JEE Main had to pay the counselling fee. MHT CET Counselling 2026 is a Centralized Counselling Process (CAP). The seat allotment of MHT CET 2026 is based purely on the merit and preference of the candidates. The following procedure describes the counselling of MHT CET 2026 in a nutshell.
Here is the MHT-CET 2026 Centralised Admission Process (CAP) converted into a clear, structured table:

| Step 1 | Online Registration & Choice Filling | Candidates must complete online registration to participate in MHT-CET 2026 Counselling (CAP). Applicants must fill, arrange, and lock their choices of colleges and courses in order of preference. |
| Step 2 | Document Verification at Facilitation Centres (FC) | Candidates must visit the Facilitation Centres in person for document verification and confirmation of eligibility. |
| Step 3 | Provisional Merit List Display | The provisional merit list of eligible candidates is published based on entrance score, category, and eligibility criteria. |
| Step 4 | Reporting to Allotted Institute | Candidates must report to the allotted institute after the final CAP round to confirm the seat. Options available after allotment include: Freeze (accept seat), Slide (change course within the same institute), and Float (upgrade to a higher preference in the next rounds). |
